VOLUNTEER WITH US
Throughout Renfrewshire
The best thing about volunteering is that YOU can choose to do as little or as much as you want. We have a variety of volunteering roles in which you can utilise your own skills and experience to help others and make a difference in your local community.
Our volunteers are at the heart of what we do at Roar, and we really can’t thank them enough.
There are many reasons to volunteer with Roar, whether it be to feel part of a valued team, gain new skills, knowledge and experience, socialise with others, enhance your CV, bring more structure to your lifestyle, or simply to make a difference to someone’s life.
If you are 16 or over and want to make a real difference in your community, we would love to hear from you. All our projects need volunteers and there is no upper age limit. For all our volunteers, training is provided, and expenses are paid.
There are many ways to get involved;
- Assisting at our health and well-being clubs
- Assisting at our OTAGO classes (Strength and Balance Exercise class)
- Helping at our Craft Club
- Befriending an older adult who is isolated in their own home
- Helping with our Men’s Group
- Training an older person to use an iPad, tablet or smart phone
- Learning to cut toenails to help an older person get on their feet and out of the house…and much, much more.
Pathways to paid work
One of Roar’s volunteering roles offers an opportunity to get paid self-employment. Currently this is through our ‘Roar Do Feet’ project, where you can support older adults with toenail trimming to support them to keep on their feet, keep active, and stay connected in their community!
In fact, you can watch the video below and hear more about why this volunteering or paid opportunity might just be perfect for you!
