Health & wellbeing programmes

Our Renfrewshire network of clubs is an opportunity for older adults (predominantly age 65+) to meet people, socialise and laugh whilst investing in their physical and mental health through life-affirming wellbeing projects.

Be a Silver Surfer.

The internet is part of everyday life for most people. We know this is often not the case for many older people who have not grown up with the technology and may feel unsure how it works. Here at Roar we actively encourage all older adults to use a smartphone, tablet or laptop to stay connected to family, friends and the outside world.

Technology offers a vast array of tools to improve social isolation, from online access to your daily newspaper to reading your favourite books on a tablet. From joining a chat group on your smartphone to storing all your important telephone numbers. We believe in keeping it simple, with basic knowledge of how to use your device and get the most from it.

We are on a mission to ensure older adults in Renfrewshire can access the skills and training they need to use desktop and or mobile devices. It is our ambition for all our older clients to be able to confidently use different digital services and mobile devices. From smartphones to tablets, from desktop computers to laptops, we believe everyone can learn and gain the benefits of accessing the world online.

We are currently running a Digital drop-in at Sherwood Greenlaw Church in Paisley. Why not pop along with your digital device!
