Reducing Falls Together: A Community Partnership Event in Renfrewshire

Falls are one of the leading causes of injury and loss of independence, particularly for older adults and those living with sensory or mobility challenges. That’s why a powerful partnership of organisations across Renfrewshire is coming together to raise awareness, share expertise, and connect people with vital support services.

The Reducing Falls Together event brings together key partners including NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, Police Scotland, Renfrewshire Health & Social Care Partnership, Sight Scotland, Sight Scotland Veterans, Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, and Roar Connections for Life. Each organisation plays a crucial role in supporting individuals to stay safe, independent, and well within their communities.

This free event will take place on Thursday 21st May, from 2–4pm at Lagoon Leisure Centre in Paisley. It’s open to everyone, no booking required, making it an accessible opportunity for individuals, families, carers, and professionals to learn more about falls prevention and early intervention services available locally.

Attendees can expect practical advice, information on support services, and the chance to speak directly with professionals who are working on the front lines of community safety and wellbeing. Whether it’s understanding how to reduce risks at home, improving balance and strength, or accessing specialist services, the event aims to empower people with the knowledge and tools to prevent falls before they happen.

By working collaboratively, these organisations are strengthening a shared commitment: helping people live safely, confidently, and independently for longer.

Come along, get informed, and be part of reducing falls together.
