Job Opportunity – Digital Support Worker (Sessional Role)
Roar Connections For Life is looking for a Roar-Do-Digital Support Worker to provide digital support to older adults across our clubs and services on a rotational basis.
Locations: Various (rotating weekly across different clubs)
Hours: 6 per week over 2 days (flexible, with a different day each week between 9am and 3pm)
Rate: £15 an hour
Do you enjoy helping people feel more confident with technology? In this role you’ll make a real difference by supporting older adults to build the digital skills that help them stay independent, connected and confident.
Why this role matters
So much of daily life has moved online from shopping and banking, to booking appointments, to keeping in touch with friends and family. For many older adults, this shift can feel overwhelming and isolating. With your help they’ll gain the skills and confidence to take part in the digital world.
Every week will bring something different:
- One day you could be showing someone how to order on Amazon.
- The next, guiding them through accessing their pension or using online banking.
- Or simply helping them make the text larger on their phone or tablet so it’s easier to read.
What’s involved in the role:
- Lead friendly digital support sessions in our clubs and services
- Help people build skills at their own pace
- Create a welcoming, supportive space where there’s no such thing as a “silly question”
- Encourage older adults to feel proud of their progress
What we’re looking for
You don’t need to be a technical expert, just confident with the basics of smartphones, tablets, iPads, and laptops. The most important qualities are patience, friendliness, and a non-judgemental attitude. If you enjoy helping others, you’ll find this role hugely rewarding.
Whether you’re an experienced digital trainer or simply passionate about supporting people, we’d love to hear from you.
