Roar Clubs, Activities and Projects

We operate a network of clubs, activities and projects that are designed to provide an opportunity to meet people, socialise and laugh whilst investing in your physical and mental health through our wellbeing programmes. Listed below are some of the NEW projects and activities as well as our Roar Clubs which offer people more choice. Projects

Reels & Spiels
This is a project funded by People’s Health Trust. It offers people a chance to see films, programmes, local footage etc and an opportunity to blether about what they have seen and the memories it has evoked, laughter guaranteed. Every Tuesday from 1 – 4 pm at West End Community Centre.  For more information contact Maureen McPherson at the office on 0141 889 7481.

Come Dine with Me
Sign up to cook together, share tips and recipes and then enjoy the meal you have made together.  Most Fridays from 10.30 am – 12.30 pm based at the West End Community Centre in Paisley.  For more information contact Kate Connor at the office on 0141 889 7481.

Men’s Group
This group is aimed at older men and offers a range of  activities and organised trips to various venues all based or starting from the West End Community Centre in Paisley every Friday from 1.30 pm to 3.30 pm.  The cost is £1 to cover for refreshments. On trip days the time changes to 1 – 4 pm to allow for travelling.  Spaces on trips must be booked in advance and there is a £3 charge for mini bus. Exclusive Health and Wellbeing
This is a health and wellbeing MOT  with qualified physiotherapists  who provide a baseline assessment of your fitness and help you make improvements through specialist exercises. Particularly beneficial for anyone worried about their balance or falling.  Based at the West End Community Centre every Wednesday from 12.30 – 3.30.  Contact Clare Robertson for more information 0141 889 7481.

Craft Cafe
This is a creative solution to reducing isolation and loneliness amongst older adults aged 60+. It offers members a safe, social and creative environment where they can learn new skills, renew social networks and reconnect with their communities.  Every Tuesday from 10 – 12 noon based at the West End Community Centre in Paisley.

I.T. Classes
Computers and the internet are part of people’s everyday lives and can help you stay connected. Classes are available for complete beginners and also for people who want to improve their skills.

Information and Signposting
We help lots of people every year to get information on services and organisations. Sometimes it can be an older person’s relative looking for information about how to navigate the Health and Care Systems or it can be older people who like to stay connected with us because we keep them informed of events and suggestions on how to stay well. There are lots of people who like to phone and know we will try to help.
